The interdisciplinary network XY aims to strengthen early career researchers’ cooperative and communication skills. It focuses on research-practice partnerships (RPPs) in which researchers and practitioners collaborate to develop evidence-based responses to practice-relevant questions. The article discusses key success factors such as mutual recognition, transparency in goals and roles, and the role of brokers. Experiences from project XY show that RPPs can promote knowledge transfer and serve as learning and development spaces for early career researchers.
