The “Qualitätspakt Lehre” (education quality pact) has fostered the improvement of student support and the quality of teaching at state universities in Germany. However, many small higher education institutions, in particular, have not yet been able to set up their own faculty development courses in university didactics. This article describes how a certified teacher-training programme was set up with 63 workshops and around 500 participants per year using no additional funding. An evaluation conducted from 2016 to 2020 also showed a high level of satisfaction among the participants and a high degree of subjective learning and implementation success.
