Opportunities and challenges of inter-university Quality Management Systems

Between October 2010 and September 2012, the Technical University and the University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern, in conjunction with the office of the “Hochschulevaluierungsverbund Südwest” (University Evaluation Network Southwest”), conducted a pilot project entitled “Quality Management System across two universities”. Based on the criteria of the System Accreditation and the process which was implemented, this article outlines the possibilities and limits of inter-university cooperation in the field of Quality Management from the perspectives of the two project coordinators.
