Empirical social research in social work study programmes at Austria’s universities of applied sciences

While research and development in natural and economic sciences have a long tradition and broad foundation at Austria’s universities of applied sciences, social (science) research plays a minor role. This article shows the present state of social research at Austria’s universities of applied sciences and demonstrates both its scientific and its social importance.
