This paper describes the design, implementation and evaluation of the “Digital Competence License” course at the Dresden University of Technology, which aims to prepare students for the demands of a digitalised working world. The course promotes digital competences in accordance with the EU-DigComp 2.2, as well as interdisciplinary teamwork through Virtual Collaborative Learning (VCL), which enables problem-based and learner-centred learning and is based on a specially developed case study. The evaluation results show positive changes in students’ general and digital competences and are interpreted in the context of university development.
