Internships have a long tradition in profession-oriented study programs. Two universities, one focused on teaching professions, the other on health professions, initiated the joint development of a training course for educators in internships. This course is intended to enable educators to support students in learning how to cope with complex requirements of professional practice. The development took place in a transdisciplinary working group (EdgeLab) with participants from both universities and fields of practice. EdgeLab opens up new perspectives, promotes sustainable network learning, and contributes to the innovative development of higher education learning environments. The EdgeLab framework is described in the article.
