Despite their fundamental relevance for service learning, community partner organizations and their perspectives have been widely neglected in (German speaking) service learning research so far. The article summarizes the core findings of a 2022 Community Partner Survey on service learning: it reports on the community partners’ motives and hindrances for taking part, their view on the quality of student engagement and cooperation, as well as the perceived organizational and societal impacts. It also covers community partners’ perceptions of student learning and competency development. The findings are discussed against the background of recent research from the US and Germany.
