The seamless learning approach engages with emerging challenges in higher education, such as the trend towards lifelong learning and the increasing heterogeneity of student populations. Nevertheless, seamless learning demands self-directed learning from the students. This paper explores the lessons that can be learned from urban planning for the design of virtual seamless learning spaces. Conceptual considerations are adapted from urban planning and design by GEHL (2015).
