Social changes are increasing the importance of skills for lifelong learning. Constructivist methods and attitudes are needed to support these key competences, and a constructivist form of teacher education is required as well. A problem-based approach to teacher training is suitable for the acquisition of competences and enhances the probability of transferring such methods to school.
