Students pursuing a teaching degree are expected to gain basic assessment skills for their profession. They have to evaluate student performance and must be aware of factors that influence the achievement of learning goals. This paper presents a game and e-learning based environment, which consists primarily of a virtual classroom. Using case studies in the virtual scenario, student teachers practice assessment abilities within the didactic framework of problem-based learning. The initial feedback from lecturers and students is presented here, and future extensions of the learning environment are discussed.
