Incorporating and managing heterogeneity places special demands on teachers at vocational schools. This paper explores the question of how degree programmes can and should prepare for these tasks. The paper first introduces and defines comprehensive tasks and competences, and then goes on to analyse the recommendations and the present situation in terms of how this topic is currently scheduled. Based on national and international research, the demands and potentials of the topic are discussed. Finally, the paper outlines necessary future research and development.
