In teacher internships, Weblogs are often considered an effective tool to promote reflection and communication. An additional potential has been identified with regard to coping with stress. However, it is unclear whether blogging is equally suited to all students. In an empirical study (N=141) prospective teachers were asked to write daily weblog postings during a 4-week internship. Based on questionnaire responses, the study identified factors that lead to a positive evaluation of this approach. The results show that relatively few students consider this approach helpful. Especially students with increased openness, neuroticism, effectiveness as well as higher stress levels consider blogging as a meaningful activity.
