German universities are developing different didactic settings, in order to prepare student teachers to cope with the needs of inclusive education. This paper presents a concept for raising the awareness of social integration in classes, a relevant topic for all school types and levels. The paper discusses the opportunities and challenges of collaboration between universities and schools, as well as the involvement of students in systematic data collection. It then offers some recommendations.
