The Stage-Gate process as a tool in entrepreneurship education

The Stage-Gate process offers a powerful tool to combine theory and practice in entrepreneurship education. The staggered process flow gives the lecturers enough space to highlight open questions through individual key topics. At the same time, the Stage-Gate process offers the students the opportunity to apply the skills learned during the studies in an independent, interdisciplinary manner. The Stage-Gate process affords the opportunity to gain initial experiences with entrepreneurial decisions and actions in a protected educational environment. It gives students (particularly those who have not thought about establishing a business) practical insight into the potentials and challenges of developing a product form the perspective of innovation-based entrepreneurship.
