This paper reports on the orientation program for MINT subjects (MINTgrün)  that was introduced at the Technische Universität Berlin in the winter term 2012/13. MINTgrün adresses secondary school graduates who are interested in the natural and engineering sciences but have not yet decided which one they wish to focus on. The superscript "grün" (green) indicates the conceptual focus on ecological and social questions. MINTgrün has two objectives. First, students should be given enough time and space to make a conscious decision. Second, students should receive guidance during their adaptation to the academic system. After two years experience, it is time of positive stock tacking.
