Between 2005 and 2006, the gFFZ – the joint research centre of the Universities of Applied Sciences in Hessen for Women's Studies and Gender Research – carried out a project with the title “Gender Competence in Teachings”. With participation of interested professors from different university sites and different branches of study, pilot projects were developed, performed and evaluated. This article reflects critically the applied project practice and its immanent paradoxies. The text operates with open development challenges regarding the implementation of gender topics in academic teachings and in interdisciplinary cooperation.
