The use of teaching videos in teacher education has great potential. Video lessons can be used to present teaching and learning theories and to support the professional discussion and reflection of classroom activities and events, thereby enhancing teacher professionalisation. This paper first describes the goals and potential of video-based teaching on a theoretical basis. It then provides insight into the empirical results of a teacher survey and shows practical implementation options using the example of the Zurich University of Teacher Education (PH Zurich).
