Learning Outcomes currently are one of the most-debated issues in the field of curricular development. This article focuses on the theoretical, methodological and practical implications of developing an outcome-oriented curriculum discussing the following questions: How are learning outcomes or qualification profiles developed and formulated? How are they realised in the programme syllabus? What teaching and learning strategies are required? And how can the students’ learning progress be assessed, i.e. how can the learning outcomes be evaluated? The second part provides an insight into how these issues where practically approached, and ends with the conclusion that it requires constant reflection of the issues involved.
