This article discusses the social bookmarking / social tagging service Edutags, which was developed by Learning Lab of University Duisburg – Essen and German Eduserver, in terms of its potential as a discovery tool for Open Educational Resources (OER). Three models are used that briefly outline options for the aggregation and retrievability of OER. The approach described here is essentially based on crowdsourcing, as well as machine-readable licenses and additional metadata.
