The New Public Management and the shift from teaching to learning changed the human resource management system at German universities. Student evaluations have become more important for the recruitment of student-centred teachers. However, the validity and reliability of student evaluations of teaching approaches and teaching activities have still not been fully explored or verified. For the present article, 696 students filled out questionnaires about teaching approaches and activities, and their answers were then compared to the self-assessments of the 43 relevant lecturers.
