Employability turned on its head: a report on a preparation training for internships in BA studies in Sociology

This article introduces a preparation training for internships as a special format in the BA programme in Sociology to support individualized strategies for career planning based on the idea of employability. Reflecting on professional and generic competences enables students to prepare an individual competency profile and to explore a variety of employment perspectives which fit their profile. The specific challenges of teaching such a course are taken into account. The example of our preparation training for internships demonstrates didactic opportunities for developing competence-oriented teaching.
