This paper describes the development of a questionnaire that makes it possible to investigate teacher attitutes towards teaching with respect to various domains of higher education teaching. Based on the Attitudes to Teaching Inventory (TRIGWELL & PROSSER, 2004), as well as theoretical reflections, items were developed and a pilot study was conducted with 181 teachers. A factor analysis reveals a six-scale solution, with the scales ‘Orientation towards Learning Processes’, ‘Orientation towards Transmission of Knowledge’, ‘Orientation towards Students’ Activities and Activation’, ‘Orientation towards Further Professional Experiences’, ‘Orientation towards Feedback’ and ‘Orientation towards Interaction’.
