To date, a quantitative measurement and description of learning cultures in the context of higher edcuation institutions has not yet been established. Based on a functionalist perspective, this article measures and describes the learning cultures of business administration and business education studies using a comprehensive learning culture inventory which was designed by the author. Data from groups of 3,974 (validation) and 2,171 (description) students were analysed. The results confirmed the validity and reliability of the inventory and enabled the outlining of the main characteristics of learning cultures in business studies.
