Experiences in Development and Use of an Interdisciplinary Elective Blended-Learning Course at Two Veterinary Universities

Since 2007 the eight german-speaking veterinary faculties meet regularly in E‑learning conferences to prepare the exchange of learning material and to use the synergy in this area. E-learning is an ideal supplement to classroom education, especially for subsidiary subjects. The University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover and the Vetsuisse Faculty of Bern arranged a collaborative pilot project “Neuroimmunology” as an elective course for students. The results showed, that a cooperation and development of courses between several universities and disciplines is possible and well accepted by the students.
