The SamstagsUni - A Concept at the Interface of School, Teacher Education and University

The SaturdayUniversity at the Universities of Bochum and Dortmund is an inter- disciplinary project aiming at giving high school students an insight into university life and students of teacher education the oportunity to practice teaching with interested, at times very talented students. The concept encourages lecturers, students and high school teachers to reflect on their roles within a co-operation between different institutions and to better understand problems arising for students at the transition from high school to university. All teaching participants in the project are forced to broaden their view by working jointly on the didactical reconstruction of interdisciplinary contents.
