In the model of active adaption (BRAUN, 1997, 1998, 2000) clarity of occupational goals is the central variable. It is positively correlated with efficiency and satisfaction in job or study and negatively correlated with fluctuation. Following a training to increase the clarity of occupational goals and means to achieve those is presented and evaluated. The results show that the intense analysis of future professional demands will also improve the clarity of occupational goals and means. The satisfaction with studies of psychology increased as well. These effects lasted over a period of four weeks. Finally, aspects of theory, practice and methods are discussed and conclusions are drawn for future research.
