The project “Boku-studies for the future” was implemented to improve the quality and studyability of the degree programs (Bachelor, Master) at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). The project resulted in a continuing innovation process. The procedure developed follows the principle of a holistic view of study programmes and the core process of teaching in general. Broad participation builds participant and stakeholder awareness of the need for them to play an active role in developing new solutions and improves their knowledge and understanding of the essential changes. Based on experiences with the communication process, an innovation model is derived. The key factor in this model is the recurrent interplay between institutionalized and non-formal parties.
