This article presents the results of an analysis of how academic internships are integrated into curricula. It considers different perspectives and also describes the problems experienced when transferring these results into praxis. The results of the ProPrax research project, which is financed by the BMBF, were gained by analyzing documents and surveying students. These results point to a gap between the demand for reforms (e.g. employability) and the implementation of such reforms at universities. Possible reasons are both structural and university-related. Recommendations pertaining to quality management in the practical phase are given.
