In this article, a model project at the TU Braunschweig is described which consists in the cooperation between the ‘Physikdidaktik’ (IFdN) of the Faculty of Humanities and Education and the Chemical and Thermal Process Engineering (ICTV) of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at synergies in cross-disciplinary collaboration. Since the winter semester 2008/2009, students have the opportunity to learn in a context-oriented course, the fundamentals of thermal process engineering. An accompanying evaluation shows promising trends – speaking in terms of student achievement.
