Due to the current challenges that universities are facing, the design of change is a main topic in university discourse. This article focuses on the possibilities that interventions offer as a design tool in change processes. To this end, the basic conditions of intervention are discussed from an analytical and conceptual perspective, and detailed results of how to use interventions are shown from an empirical perspective. The aim is to provide benchmarks for the design of change processes in universities by considering these perspectives.
