Appointment procedures at universities often exhibit methodological weaknesses in the evaluation of teachings skills. Based on a literature review and an empirical study of teaching concepts, an interview guide, an observation form and an evaluation form based on a set of assessment categories were developed. The purpose of these instruments is to determine the teaching profiles of applicants systematically and transparently and to compare these profiles with the requirements of the relevant position. This provides a better foundation for the evaluation of teaching abilities during appointment procedures.
