New Approaches in Teacher Training: The Interdisciplinary Project – Co-operation between science subjects, science education and school practice
Main Article Content
In the last few years the university curricula for secondary school teacher accreditation have been revised. Especially the amount of vocational training in pedagogy and school practice has increased. Nevertheless, the integration of subjects, didactics applied to specific subjects, general pedagogics, and school practice is still rather low. The interdisciplinary project at the faculty of natural sciences at the University of Salzburg that is presented in this article wants to contribute to the increase of effectiveness of the teachers’ training. The concept of the course follows the model of educational reconstruction and the concept of scientific literacy, which is based on the OECD-PISA-Studies. The experiences made in the course are described.
