In order to find innovative solutions to master growing social and environmental challenges related to climate change, university graduates will need enhanced interdisciplinary competences. Inter-university cooperation is of central importance for the effort to offer students thematically diverse, professionally sound and didactically appealing learning opportunities for the development of interdisciplinary sustainability competences. This paper outlines some possible options for cooperative higher education development in the context of sustainability and uses the example of the T-Shape-oriented university development project SDG-Campus to exemplify these options.
