The Bologna Process facilitates the use of audiovisuals in higher education by the systematic organisation of the study programmes. Audiovisuals can be collected, documented and made available in a systematic way. The introduction of e-Learning in higher education makes use of audiovisuals in many ways. The question is: “How can audiovisuals be provided as to find them easily and integrate them in e-Learning environments?” In the context of two projects funded bei the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung it was possible for IWF Leibniz-Institut für Wissen und Medien to develop a media management system, which make the transfer of media and metadata in other system possible. In cooperation with Niedersächsische Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Göttingen (SUB) and the Verbundszentrale of the Gemeinsamer Bibliotheksverbund (VZG) the media and metadata were transferred into the library systems. IWFcampusmedien can now be used in e-Learning environments as needed.
