Addressing local societal challenges, developing joint ideas for solutions and shaping change together - co-creative work between society and academia is becoming increasingly relevant, but is also full of challenges. Using the example of the co-creative intersectoral format “Barcamp for Diversity”, this article discusses the opportunities and conditions for success of formats for joint knowledge generation and at the same time presents the use of a Barcamp in the sense of a didactic and participation-oriented format as a building block for innovation in university teaching.
