The “Digital Skills, Knowledge and Communication for Medical Students” project

Digitisation is changing all areas of life, including the requirements for future physicians. In a joint approach, interuniversity and interdisciplinary working groups at Austrian public medical universities and faculties have developed training elements on digitisation in medicine. As a first step, these elements have been introduced as elective subjects, which will be evaluated before being integrated into the curricula. Future physicians will thus acquire fundamental skills in utilising digital tools to benefit patient care.
