Application-oriented and self-directed learning in the university context using the example of simulation game formats in the study of educational science

The concept of the simulation game in university teaching includes the transfer of theory into practice through simulative learning elements and promotes application-oriented learning. In addition, another didactic focus is self-directed learning in a cooperative learning setting through joint decision-making processes and creative development of solutions. In this article, with reference to the theories mentioned, a practical example of a simulation game of a University of Education within the study program educational science on the topics of marketing and management in educational institutions is explained.
