In this paper, we describe our experience with a business simulation within a master’s of business administration programme at the Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences. Originally, the business simulation took place in a traditional mode. However, due to the pandemic situation, it had to be held as a digital event in 2020–21. Here, we elaborate on essential supporting and limiting aspects that contributed to the successful implementation of the simulation game in the digital format, such as the establishment of a support network, timely preparation and the adaptation of the schedule and communication structures.
