The „Health Insurance Game“ was originally developed for offline teaching in class. During the Covid 19 pandemic it was adapted for online use, and at present it is played offline, using online tools. In the game students play different scenarios of regulation of health insurance markets, calculate insurance premiums by themselves and discuss topics like “fairness” of health care systems. The produced data are analyzed with the perspective of health economics theory. Digitalization and the thereby induced international exchange helped fine-tuning the concept and developing an international Open Educational Ressource.
