Students with non-traditional access spend on average fewer hours per week on their studies at Austrian universities than those with traditional access. However, when using OLS regression and controlling for other factors (especially employment), this difference disappears. In the regression model, those with those with non-tradtitional access spend even more time on their studies than those with traditional access. However, the living and study situations differ. For example, those with non-traditional access are older and work more hours per week. Measures which take this into account can increase the study success of those with non-traditional access.
