Research-based learning in online higher education
Main Article Content
Research-based learning (RBL) aims to introduce students to science and research (practices). Due to the pandemic, RBL has now been implemented on a larger scale in online teaching for the first time. This paper focuses on how (student) research is conducted in online RBL. As part of a qualitative research project, university instructors were interviewed about their experiences with online RBL. The results indicate that, as long as the properties of online teaching are taken into account, online RBL can facilitate an introduction to digital research (practices), the use of ‘new’ technologies and tools and the reflection on research.
