Since 2008 the ETH Zurich implements a decentralized model to entrench and to forster learning technology. The main characteristics of this model consist in the creation of new positions within the departments and of a steering network. In their dual function as local supporters as well as change agents the job holders are clearly identified as members of the third space. In this paper the organizational and the personnel implications of the model are discussed. Based on the experience made so far, transfer possibilities and extensions of the model are outlined.
