Previous concepts of science didactics have limited their view to a university education while excluding practical and occupactional aspects of education. The inclusion of a university of applied sciences perspective corrects this oversight. The theoretical model presented here develops the didactics of science in the dimensions of science, practice and teaching. In addition, there is a basic constitution of the human mind that is connectable to a theory of science oriented towards action science. The demanding, multi-layered role of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) and its references to science didactics thereby become apparent.
