This paper presents a highly practical approach to diversity using the example of the FOM University of Applied Sciences and their extra-occupational students (i.e., those who are also working full-time). Three perspectives and their interactions are outlined. The strategic anchoring is presented using the university's reporting system as an example. At the micro level, the Diversity Toolbox shows which instruments and methods can be utilised to systematically develop the diversity competence of students and teachers. Finally, the intermediate meso level is based on the Diversity Monitor – an empirical survey that should enable the drawing of conclusions regarding the further development of study programmes.
