An education development project at the FH Münster aimed to increase student interest in Quality Management (QM) and to enhance the involvement of the diverse group of students. Due to its importance in the healthcare sector, QM is a mandatory module in seven degree courses. Besides individual and cognitive aspects, students differ in terms of their experiences and life situations. In an iterative process carried out over four terms, a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods was used to increase the understanding of student needs. This led to a continuing dialogue and resulted in effective adaptations of the module.
