Inclusion enables all members of a university to realise their full potential in research, teaching and administration. Successful inclusion is thus a prerequisite for all efforts to achieve university excellence. This paper presents a model of interlocking processes developed to support inclusion at TU Dresden: strategic “top-down” processes are implemented according to guidelines issued by the university executive board, and “bottom-up” processes, which motivate and enable all members of the university to act in an inclusive manner, are promoted. In order to further develop and incorporate inclusion in all aspects of future university life and activities, the goal is a strategic alignment of research.
