In the cross-university project “Agile management of sustainability”, an agile service learning format was carried out, in which concrete contributions were developed for municipalities. The pilot idea space “Sustainable City” opened up a direct cooperation with different actors from practice to test the agile project management method SCRUM and scientific methods of sustainability assessment. The results show that inter-university service learning requires clear frameworks, subject-specific prior knowledge and degrees of freedom in the group structure.
