‘Bildung’ and ‘Digitalisation’ in light of digitalisation strategies

Digitalisation is playing an increasingly important role in the context of higher education, both in teaching practice and educational policy development. In order to shed light on the relationship between the two complex constructs of Bildung and Digitalisation, the digitalisation strategies of twelve German states were investigated using a qualitative content analysis. The results indicate that the two concepts are linked through aspects of quality and efficiency, and that digital tools and learning settings should serve educational goals.
