Universities are facing an increasing need to address the challenges of digital transformation. The aim of the development of higher education is to analyse the possibilities for students to gain future employment and to adapt or further develop existing curricula. Changing competence requirements (e.g., problem-solving ability, critical thinking) among students have given rise to questions about how content should change as a result of the digital transformation and which knowledge and skills students should be encouraged to develop in the future—questions which have not been adequately addressed to date. In order to meet these demands on higher education, it is indispensable for further development to determine the status quo of curricula design, and content design in particular, with regard to the digital transformation and its connecting factors. For this purpose, an analysis of the documents used in the economic and business education curricula in Austria was conducted as part of a case study.
