Smart Success – A digital assistant that contributes to a culture of flexible study

The web application “Smart Success”, which has been developed at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, offers students an instrument for planning their course of study individually. This contributes to a culture of flexible study in three ways: First, students get an overview of their flexibly created course of study. Second, the innovative early warning system prevents demoralising and stigmatising effects on students. Third, the academic culture changes. However, these effects of the web application presuppose that there is complementary student counseling and an appropriate organisational framework.
